Stainless steel knowledge sharing

Stainless steel is a metal material with good corrosion resistance, beautiful surface, easy cleaning, high strength and long service life. It contains not less than 10.5% chromium. Chromium contained in stainless steel can form a chromium oxide protective film with oxygen in the to prevent corrosion of steel. The classification of stainless steel is mainly carried out according to the organizational structure, composition and processing methods. According to the organizational structure, stainless steel can be divided into austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel steel has the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, high toughness and high heat resistance, and is often used in the manufacture of food machinery, medical equipment, etc. 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance and is extremely durable in seawater and chemical environments, and is widely used in manufacturing chemical, marine, pharmaceutical and other fields. According to the processing method, stainless steel can be divided into cold-rolled stainless steel, hot-rolled stainless steel and forged stainless steel. Among them, cold-rolled stainless steel has high surface flatness, good dimensional stability, and smooth surface after multiple processes; while hot-rolled stainless steel has a variety of organizational structures and strong flexibility formed by thermal processing, and is often used to manufacture large-scale components such as steel plates and steel pipes. In short, due to its good corrosion resistance, aesthetics, high strength and long life, stainless steel is widely used in many fields, such as construction, chemical industry, energy, medical treatment, automobiles and high-end kitchen utensils and so on.
